The Yarn
I used Twill from We Crochet to make the Valley Brew Can Cozy and its matching Unisex Beanie. Twill is a worsted weight 100% superwash merino wool. I highly recommend trying this yarn. It is a dream to work with!
I used the colorway Fiddlehead, and its a stunning green. I can’t wait to try the other colors.
Supplies
- 70 yards Twill (We Crochet) or equivalent worsted weight yarn
- I/5.5mm crochet hook
- Measuring tape
- Yarn needle
- Scissors
Gauge and Sizes
Gauge: 14 Sts x 20 rows = 4”
(of Stitch Pattern)
Sizes:
Standard Can – 4” wide x 4.5” tall
Tall Can – 4” wide x 6” tall
Stitches Used
- Ch – Chain
- Hdc – Half Double Crochet
- Sc – Single Crochet
- Sl St – Slip Stitch
- St(s) – Stitch(es)
Pattern Notes
Written in American crochet terms.
If you crochet tight, I advise going up a hook size.
The Hdc will be placed in the Sl St of the previous row. The Sl St will be placed in the Hdc of the previous row.
The Pattern
Ch 32
1.) Sc in 2nd Ch from the hook and each St across. Join to 1st Sc with a Sl Sl. (31)
2.) Turn, Ch 1, Sc in 1st St, *Hdc in next St, Sl St loosely in next St, Sc in next St, repeat from * around. Join to 1st Sc with a Sl St. (31)
Repeat row 2 until approximately 4” (6”).
3.) Ch 1, Sc in 1st St and each St around.
Finish off and weave in all ends.
